So you want to be a model…..

Friends and family members have told you for years “You’re so good looking that you should be a model”.

I know that many models just starting out have limited funds.  They are either still in school or working another job.

Maybe you contacted an agency or been approached by one.  They want to set you up with a photographer and charge you hundreds to thousands of dollars to make a portfolio for you.  As a result all too often I see hopeful models posting photos on web sites that are selfies or cell phone pictures taken by a well-meaning friend or parent trying to get work.   

Another option is to “Trade Time for Prints” or “TFP”.  Actually these days you generally get edited digital files.

This is where a photographer and a model get together, create some images, both get to use the photos, and no money changes hands. 

When my schedule permits I will be happy to do “TFP”

A few basic requirements:

1.       If you are relativity new with no references we must meet first somewhere like a Starbucks or McDonald’s.

2.       If you are under 18 a parent or guardian must be present for the meeting as well as the shoot.

3.       You must have a valid photo ID with your age on it.

4.       If you are over 18 you may bring an escort with as long as they do not disrupt the photo shoot.  Be warned they may be put to work holding or moving something.

5.       All photo shoots must be at least 2 hours in length.

6.       Be on time, I will be there waiting.  If you have to cancel call well ahead of time.  I value my time and yours.

7.       If you need your hair and make-up done you will need to pay for that unless we can find someone to trade with us.

You will receive:

1.       My undivided attention and expertise in a professional setting.

2.       At least three retouched photos from each outfit or setting that you can use in any way you            want except for selling them.

3.       Posing tips and tricks.  Also hints on what makes a good portfolio.
